Our Theatre

Earlier this week we learned the sad news that we had lost a much loved member of the Gorey community, Mr David Warren.  Gorey Little Theatre and David Warren were synoymous with one another for many, many years. David was one of the founding members of our theatre and through it's five decade history was deeply entrenched in every aspect of Gorey Little Theate, both on and off stage. A popular man, known for his gentle nature and sharp wit David was beloved by all who knew him. The committee of Gorey Little Theatre is made up of many members who were life long friends of David and they will feel his loss greatly. The town and the Theatre have lost a special man and dear friend to many. David was passionate about his love of drama, and his commitment to bringing the theatre culture to life in Gorey town very much contributed to the outstanding success of the venue to date.  We will carry on in your name David and keep the stage lights burning bright for you.

 "David Warren was for several decades the artistic lynchpin of Gorey Little Theatre, working under his direction was always stimulating and very often hilarious. His lighting wit and ascerbic humour, could never disguise the gentle nature that lay beneath, An Artist, A gentleman ....a friend Garry Lombard

Gorey Little Theatre Group has been running strong since the 1950′s. During our time we have put on countless performances. We host the annual South Leinster Drama Festival in which amateur drama groups from all over the country come to perform. From our humble beginnings we have undergone many changes in our venue, from our first home in Courtown Harbour to the fine modern 300+ seater auditorium today. We are always looking for new members to join the group and help out, whether it’s acting or backstage that you’re into, we’d love to hear from you.
