Gorey and the Theatre have lost a special man in David Warren
Earlier this week we learned the sad news that we had lost a much loved member of the Gorey community, Mr David Warren. Gorey Little Theatre and David Warren were synoymous with one another for many, many years. David was one of the founding members of our theatre and through it's five decade history was deeply entrenched in every aspect of Gorey Little Theate, both on and off stage. A popular man, known for his gentle nature and sharp wit David was beloved by all who knew him. The committee of Gorey Little Theatre is made up of many members who were life long friends of David and they will feel his loss greatly. The town and the Theatre have lost a special man and dear friend to many. David was passionate about his love of drama, and his commitment to bringing the theatre culture to life in Gorey town very much contributed to the outstanding success of the venue to date. We will carry on in your name David and keep the stage lights burning bright for you.
Here are some words from his dear friend Garry Lombard the committee
"David Warren was for several decades the artistic lynchpin of Gorey Little Theatre, working under his direction was always stimulating and very often hilarious. His lighting wit and ascerbic humour, could never disguise the gentle nature that lay beneath, An Artist, A gentleman ....a friend "
Garry Lombard
